Yesterday Morning

yesterday morning was a good morning...started off slow with a hot cup of coffee...then lisa and i went to the studio to get some work done...so i thought i'd share a few pic's of our day with everyone...i'll also finish with a few small paintings i've hung in the gallery lately...my paintings have never been anywhere but our house so for me to hang them in the gallery for everyone to see is kind-of weird for me...but also something i've always wanted to do...anyway enough talk heres the pictures...

thanks for stopping by...hope everyone has a wonder-filled day and we'll catch you later...

  1. thank you for the studio shots - and i love your work - so glad it is being hung publicly so that others can appreciate it as well... maybe some post (unless i have missed it - i am new here) you could talk about them a bit?

  2. p.s. i very much like the industrial-style work... it is edgy and yet organic... delicate and not... i love paradoxes in work... i use steel wire too at times and am wondering what you think about this part of it - it rusts... which can be a part of the intention - or not... do you seal yours with wax? that is what i have done when i sell something that someone might not appreciate rust on... but my feelings about this are changing... it gives the pieces life and an evolution of their own... i think so, at least...

  3. rust is one of my most favorite things in the world...but it's not for everyone...i do seal the pieces yet some i allow to rust a little before i seal them...but hey it's steal and it rust...most of the people who buy my stuff are adventurous people and lets face it nothing stay's the same...

  4. i really like and appreicate your work...nice to see it publicly...i'm very fond of the industrial look...not only do i have a small art business i also own a collision repair facility...thanks for the tip on soldering steel wire...when you said silver solder, do you mean for sterling or like the silver solder from the hardware store...play well...

  5. hi shelly...thanks for the comment...it's jeweler silver solder not hardware solder...it's funny you have 2 business's art & collision repair...cause i feel my work falls somewhere between art and a collision in need of repair...lol...again thanks and if you have anymore questions about the steel please let me know...

  6. It's interesting how the photo of your workplace (esp. the 3rd one) corresponds with your paintings (4th and 5th photos esp.) in colouring. The red. The green. The white.

P.S. I collect rust. Okay, not rust but rusty things, nuts, nails and stuff.
